Paul D. Schreiber High School students Max Miranda and Allegra Noto were selected to present their research projects at the prestigious International Sustainable World (Engineering, Energy and Environment) Project Olympiad and the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair, respectively.
Max recently demonstrated how to integrate hydropower into urban environments at the I-SWEEEP conference at Houston, Texas, while Allegra will present her findings on combatting the Ebola virus in Guinea at Intel ISEF in Phoenix, Arizona, in May. Both used math models to present their research. Max used 3-D modeling and Allegra used math models to demonstrate their points.
Allegra qualified as a result of her strong showing at the New York Science and Engineering Fair. She is the second Schreiber student to qualify Intel ISEF this year, following Madeline Fagen’s first-place honors at the Long Island Science and Engineering Fair for her research on schizophrenic patients.
