Third Squad detectives report the arrest of a Williston Park man for multiple incidents that occurred on Sunday, May 8, 2016 around 8:40 pm.
According to detectives, Christopher Murther was placed into custody after police received multiple 911 calls for a suspicious person who entered and attempted to enter numerous residences in Roslyn Harbor, Glen Head and Glenwood Landing.
Third Precinct officers located Murther on Scudders Lane, Glen Head and pursued him on foot. After he was apprehended, Murther fought with officers and was eventually placed into custody.
A subsequent investigation revealed the Murther attempted and or entered five residences, some where he was confronted by the homeowners and fled without any proceeds.
The incidents occurred at Cody Avenue, Roslyn Harbor, Cody Avenue, Glenwood Landing, Smith Street, Glen Head and two homes on Scudders Lane, Glen Head.
Murther is charged with four counts of second-degree burglary, second-degree attempted burglary, four counts of second-degree criminal trespass, third-degree attempted criminal trespass and resisting arrest. He was admitted to an area hospital for an unrelated illness and will be arraigned as soon as practical.
