Plainview Goes To Boston

BostonPlv_051116AA new tradition has been born at Plainview-Old Bethpage Middle School, as eighth-grade students toured and explored Boston, MA, on May 2 and 3. Students spent time eating lunch in Quincy Market, enjoying some local favorites including New England clam chowder and Boston cream pie.

After lunch, the students toured some of Boston’s oldest neighborhoods and monuments, including Paul Revere’s house, the North End, Faneuil Hall and the state house. Students also observed some of the most interesting and beautiful marine life at the New England Aquarium, home to sea lions, seals, sea turtles and hundreds of other fish. Dinner at the Hard Rock Café and a game show/dance party concluded the first day’s fun-filled agenda. Students awoke bright and early the next morning and explored the nautical side of Boston on the Boston Duck Tours. Later in the afternoon, students visited the Boston Museum of Science, before returning to Plainview.

The trip was a successful and rewarding educational experience for students and one that they will remember for many years. A special thanks to the trip’s coordinator, Ali Glassman, and the chaperones, including Ms. Agunzo, Ms. Boddy, Ms. Bowden, Ms. Charletta, Ms. Coakley, Ms. A. Gentile, Ms. J. Gentile, Ms. Goldstein, Mr. Lombardo, Ms. McCarroll, Ms. Ok, Mr. Ritter and Ms. Sgroi.
