Harry Katz Carpet One Floor & Home, a Mineola family-owned flooring retailer will be showcasing their new 10,000 square. ft. state-of-the-art flooring show room during a grand re-opening celebration May 18–21.
On Wednesday, May 18, the store will host a designer night starting at 5 p.m. with special guest Julie Edelman, The Accidental Housewife. On Thursday, May 19, there will be an official ribbon cutting with Mineola officials as well as representatives from Building for America’s Bravest, a program that Carpet One Floor & Home partners with to help build Smart Homes for the most catastrophically injured service members. On Saturday, May 21, the store will celebrate with a KJOY 98.3 remote radio station broadcast, face painting, prizes and giveaways.
Harry Katz started his flooring business with his wife Yetta Katz in 1932 and it has grown to be Long Island’s largest floor covering and appliance store. Today the business is still in the family and run by Harry and Yetta’s grandchildren, Cyndy Katz Sigadel and Gary Katz.

Harry Katz Carpet One Floor & Home has a long history of serving their community. From Harry Katz’s 49 years as a volunteer firefighter to the many organizations that the Katz’s have supported through the years, the family continues to find ways to make Mineola a better place for everyone.

The store layout helps customers choose from a wide selection of flooring options from timeless hardwood to new, durable luxury vinyl tile, and many styles of carpet.

The store joined the Carpet One Floor & Home cooperative in 1986 shortly after it was established and have benefitted from their membership in numerous ways, from innovative products to help running their business.
