It’s that time of year again. Spring is in the air, and that means that it’s time for the Dodge Homestead Spring Fling. The Cow Neck Peninsula Historical Society invites you to a family-friendly event on May 21 from 1 to 5 p.m. (rain date is May 22). Enjoy freshly baked corn bread and lemonade while you listen to the sounds of local folk group, the Front Porch Players, on the grounds of the historic 1721 Dodge Homestead. Take an educational house tour, plus learn about the honeybees from Ross, the beekeeper. Don’t miss the historic three-seater outhouse (the only one still existing in Port Washington). Honey (and honey futures) will be available for purchase as well as Port Washington circa 1644 tee’s, baked goods, jewelry and basement treasures.
Admission is free. The Dodge Homestead is located on the beautiful Mill Pond at 58 Harbor Rd. There will be plenty of parking along the north side of the pond. For more information, go to www.cowneck.org.
