Betty Oswald Brew died on March 21, 2016, in Denver, CO. She was born in Dubuque, IA, on Feb. 12, 1929. She was the widow of Eugene Brew of Port Washington. She attended high school in Port Washington and Sullins College in VA.
She resided in Ridgefield, CT, for many years before moving to Denver to co-own The Tended Thicket Flower Shop. Prior to that, she had a diverse career, including stints as a fashion buyer for B. Altman’s NYC, theatrical costuming, banking, real estate, travel and genealogy. Betty is survived by daughter, Lauri Brew of VA, son, Larry Brew, Jr., and grandson, Miles Brew of NC, sister, Janet Crossman, and brother, Richard Oswald of CA. A memorial service will be held graveside on Dogwood Lane at Nassau Knolls Cemetery, Port Washington, on May 29 at 12:30 p.m.
