Evelyn La Mont of Port Washington, loving mother, grandmother and daunty, died Tuesday, May 10, 2016, at the age of 91. Evelyn was born on Feb. 7, 1925, in New York, to Johanna Kapp and Kasper Kristian. She trained at Long Island College Hospital in X-ray technology. She was predeceased in 2005 by her husband of 57 years, Theodore La Mont, and her older brother, Kasper Kristian. Evelyn is survived by her children Theodore La Mont (Christine La Mont), Jeanne La Mont, Evelyn La Mont Burack (Kenneth Burack); grandchildren Kristen La Mont (Santhosh Kumaraswamy), Allison La Mont, Alexis Wielunski (Pedro Kapila de Sa), Kristian Wielunski, Matthew Burack (Elyse Burack), Amanda Burack; and great-grandchild, Domingo Thomas Wielunski de Sa. Funeral arrangements were handled by Austin F. Knowles Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Friday, May 13, at Our Lady of Fatima Roman Catholic Church. The interment followed at St. Raymond’s Cemetery, Bronx, NY. Donations in her memory to Good Shepherd Hospice, 110 Bi County Blvd., Suite 114, Farmingdale, NY, 11735 will be greatly appreciated.
