Janice Sellars Pierce, “Nana” formerly of Manhasset and Southampton, NY and Jensen Beach, FL, passed away Sunday, May 22, 2016.
Born October 16, 1926 in Lawrence MA to George Booth Sellars, Jr. and Melda Lacaillade Sellars.
Janice was married for 63 years to the late Edward Thomas Pierce (3-5-15). She devoted her life to her great big family of 7 children, and is survived by son Roger and wife Fran Mele of Charlotte, NC, daughter Daphne and husband “Skip” Cannata of Westerly, RI, son Stevan of Sayville, NY, son Jeffrey and wife Barbara Brady of Manhasset, NY, daughter Holly and husband Rich Browne of Swarthmore, PA, daughter Cynthia and beloved late husband Joe McGuinness (2-12-16) of New City, NY, daughter Deidra and husband Chris Maleno of Manhasset, NY as well as 20 grandchildren, Erin and Matt Cannata, Tom and Marie Pierce, Michael Pierce, Katie and Chris Wootton, Kevin, Dan, Eileen, Tim, Brendan, Michael, Ryan Browne, Megan, Patrick, Conor McGuinness and Max, Alex and Megan Maleno.
Janice was predeceased by son Edward Jr. at one month and by her three sisters, Marguerite Praetz, Melda Swain and Dorothy Chalfant.
Visitation was held on Thursday May 26th at the Brockett Funeral Home, Southampton. Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at the Basilica of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary in Southampton. Interment Sacred Hearts Cemetery.
