Congratulations to Westbury runners Michael Going, Jenney Tesoriero, Drew Demasters, Ray Nieves, Kimberly Greenwald and Rochelle Holden, each of whom successfully completed the first race of the 2016 Jonas Chiropractic Run Nassau Race Series. This four-mile run was held at Nickerson Beach Park on May 26.
Going crossed the finish line with a time of 29:37. Tesoriero took first place honors in the women’s 45-49 age group with a finishing time of 31:54. Demasters finished in 33:09 to earn the third place award in the 60-64 age group. Nieves finished in 35:02, Greenwald in 36:48 and Rochelle Holden in 47:40.
The race series is a collaborative effort among Nassau County, the Nassau County Parks Department, the Greater Long Island Running Club and Jonas Chiropractic. The Nickerson Beach race was the first of a series of Thursday evening races at various Nassau County Parks this summer. Upcoming races include a five-mile run at Cedar Creek Park on Thursday, June 16, a five kilometer run at the Old Bethpage Village Restoration on Thursday, June 23, and a four mile run at Eisenhower Park on Thursday, July 14.
