Come see a 1:30 or 6:30 p.m. screening of thE movie Concussion at the LPL. A doctor uncovers the truth about brain injuries in football players with repeated concussions. Starring Will Smith and Alec Baldwin (2015; Rated PG-13 2 hrs 3 mins).

LPL Summer Reading Kick-Off Outdoor Festival
For the second year in a row, the Levittown Public Library will be kicking off its summer reading programs with a jam-packed, prize-filled outdoor festival. This year’s event will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Levittown Veterans Memorial Park, in front of the library. Festivals and themes are as follows: For adults: Exercise Your Mind. Read!; Teens: Get in the Game: Read and Children’s: On Your Mark, Get Set…Read! Registrants will be entered into a free raffle prize drawing to be held at various times during the festival. Don’t miss this fun event, with food, games and entertainment. Through July 22.

Defensive Driving Course
Sharpen driving skills, receive an insurance discount and reduce violation points. This program is sponsored by the National Traffic Safety Institute. Must bring lunch, pen and driver’s license. Must register and bring $22 check or money order made payable to NTSI to the presenter the day of the program. From 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the ITPL community room.

Chess
