Town’s Program Is A Real Page Turner

ReadingTOB__AOyster Bay Town Councilwoman Rebecca M. Alesia (center) recently hosted the kick-off to the annual “One Town, One Book: Oyster Bay Reads” program held at Town Hall. The program is part of a national movement that looks to challenge communities to read the same book and discuss reactions with friends and families. The primary goal is to promote literacy while simultaneously creating a great sense of community within our town. This year’s theme will be Sports and Recreation: Making Reading Your Favorite Sport.

Among those on hand for the commencement were Lois Lovisolo, director of the Bethpage Library, Debbie Podolski, director of the Farmingdale Public Library, Michael Morea, director of the Gold Coast Public Library, Elizabeth Godlfrank, director of the Hicksville Public Library, Tina Brenner, director of the Jericho Public Library, Kathleen Smith, director of the Locust Valley Public Library, Michael Matuszewski, director of the Massapequa Public Library, Suzanne Koch, director of the Oyster Bay Public Library, Gretchen Browne, director of the Plainview Public Library and Pam Martin, director of the Syosset Public Library.
