“The town is continuing is to look for lifeguards to work at our pools for the upcoming season, which gets underway on June 20, through Labor Day,” said Muscarella. “As there is of course a lot of work and responsibility that comes with being a lifeguard, the position is meant for those who are experienced swimmers and up for the challenge.”

Muscarella noted that anyone interested in becoming a lifeguard must pass a 30-hour American Red Cross Lifeguard Training Course administered by the Town Department of Parks that will certify the applicants in CPR, first aid, and other lifeguard techniques.
Applicants interested in becoming a lifeguard are encouraged to register as soon as possible, as space is limited. Those interested may call the Department of Parks at 516-797-4167 for more information.
