Nassau County Legislator Rose Marie Walker (center) attended the recent Hicksville Athletic Booster Club Scholarship Dinner held at Verdi’s in Westbury, where she presented two scholarships in memory of her husband, John A. Walker. Honorees Joseph Roach (left) and Sara Russo (right) were selected for their outstanding academic achievement and dedication to and involvement in the community and athletics. Roach was on the varsity football and lacrosse squads while Russo played soccer and lacrosse. “The two are very active in athletics and volunteer their time, helping younger athletes without expecting any recognition in return,” said Walker.
