Schreiber Athlete Signs Letter Of Intent

Schreiber Lady Vikings varsity basketball player Phylicia Waskover has signed a letter of intent with Missouri Valley College, a NAIA Division 1 school.

“Waskover was a passionate member of the team and a great leader,” said Schreiber High School Director of Health, Physical Education and Athletics Stephanie Joannon. “She worked hard on her shooting and defense and was a big reason why the team qualified for the playoffs this season. We have had a handful of girls go on to play collegiate basketball so this is exciting for the Lady Vikings program. We wish Phylicia all the best in college.”

Missouri Valley College Head Coach Timm Dixon said, “I feel like we were able to get a great perimeter player in this class in Phylicia. She is an extremely versatile guard who can play the two and three spots on the perimeter. She can slash and get to the basket, has a solid mid-range jump shot and her game beyond the arc is also efficient. She has all the tools to be one of the great players in our league if she works hard, so we’re really excited about that.”

Waskover said, “I’m really excited. Basketball is my favorite sport. I’ve made so many friends playing basketball for Schreiber and had a great experience with the coaches. I’m
so happy we made it to the playoffs this year.”

Waskover has lived in Port Washington for her whole life.

“I love this town,” said Waskover.
“It was great growing up on the water in such a beautiful town.”

Three Schreiber students were signed in the Fall: Aiden Finnerty (Quinnipiac for lacrosse), Seth Obadia (Lafayette for lacrosse) and Demetra Vlahos (University of Miami for crew).
