MCU Scholarship For John Hayes

New Hyde Park resident John Hayes has been named the recipient of the 2016 Anna Mae Massy Memorial Scholarship awarded by Municipal Credit Union (MCU). Hayes, who graduates from Saint Mary’s High School this month and plans to attend York College in Pennsylvania to study mechanical engineering, was awarded his scholarship by MCU President/CEO Kam Wong at a ceremony held at MCU’s headquarters on June 9.
Hayes is one of eight recipients of MCU’s 2016 memorial scholarships. Eligibility for the scholarships was open to an MCU member, a child or a grandchild of a member in good standing. Selection was based on academic performance, extracurricular activities, demonstrated community service, letters of recommendation and an essay expressing personal goals.
