Garden City High School Coach Tom Flately was recently named as the 2015 Northeast Sectional Coach of the Year by the National Federation of State High School (NFHS) Coaches Association. The Northeast section includes Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island and Vermont.
“Your contributions to high school athletics are truly deserving of our recognition and appreciation,” wrote executive Robert Gardner in his congratulatory letter to Coach Flately.
Coach Flately was also recently honored by the district, the high school and The Men’s Association during October 2015 Homecoming for his long and distinguished service to the Garden City’s athletic program upon his retirement as varsity head football coach.
