CYO Girls Volleyball Going The Distance

St. Mary’s Senior CYO Volleyball team recently competed in the Division A Championships. The girls worked extremely hard and earned a second place finish in the very competitive Senior A Division. The girls defeated Maria Regina 25-13, 21-25, 25-12 in the semifinals, which advanced St. Mary’s to the championship match against undefeated St. William the Abbot.

Having lost to St. William’s in a regular season match with such close scores as 25-22, 25-23 earlier in the year, the girls knew they could compete with the 29-0 number one seed. St. Mary’s, the number two seed, put up a great fight in a thrilling match but fell short, losing 25-20, 25-17. Best of luck to the graduating seniors, many of whom have played CYO volleyball since the sixth grade.
