June 22

Officers responded to a traffic light malfunction on Washington Avenue at Transverse Road.

A concrete ornament on top of a brick pillar was damaged at a Hilton Road residence.

Officers assisted the Garden City Fire Department who responded to a small brush fire at Garden City Plaza.

June 23

A vehicle was impounded from parking field No. 11 and another vehicle was impounded from the Nassau Boulevard train station; both vehicles were deemed scofflaws by the Garden City Justice Court due to unanswered parking tickets.

Officers assisted the Garden City Fire Department with a carbon monoxide alarm activation call on Eton Road.

June 24

Someone damaged a motorcycle while it was parked outside a Commercial Avenue business.

June 26

Officer Pumilia arrested a 19-year-old Valley Stream male on Franklin Avenue for DWI and unsafe lane usage.

Officer Conti observed a vehicle on Franklin Avenue weaving in and out of his lane. In addition the vehicle came close to striking a police vehicle stopped on Franklin Avenue conducting an investigation with its emergency lights flashing. The Officer stopped the vehicle and subsequently arrested the driver, a 36-year-old Port Washington male, for DWI, unsafe lane usage and failing to yield to an emergency vehicle.

Vehicles were entered during the overnight hours on Prospect Avenue, Locust Street and Chestnut Street. Items reported stolen included electronic equipment, a watch, personal papers and sunglasses.

June 27

A 2005 GMC Yukon was reported stolen from the driveway of a First Street residence.

Sporting equipment was reported stolen from a vehicle parked at a Second Street residence.

• • •

Officers investigated a two-vehicle accident on Stewart Avenue where one of the vehicles, a blue van, reportedly left the scene without stopping.

June 28

A solicitor for a magazine subscription company was issued an appearance ticket on Pell Terrace for soliciting door to door without a permit.
