Officers responded to multiple traffic light outages on Old Country Road due to a power failure in the area.

June 30

A 52-year-old Brooklyn male was arrested in Freeport for the theft of a vehicle from a Third Street driveway on June 27.

Officer Hennessy arrested a 36-year-old Queens male for the theft of food items valued at $24.

Garden City detectives conducted a narcotics investigation in parking field No. 6 resulting in two arrests. One of the subjects, a 34-year-old Hewlett male, was charged with criminal sale of a controlled substance (oxycodone) and possession of marijuana. The other subject, a 25-year-old Garden City male, was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance (oxycodone).

A resident reports the theft of her handicap parking permit from her vehicle.

Officers investigated a criminal mischief on Weyford Terrace where a front window to a residence was found damaged.

Officer Pumilia stopped a vehicle for excessive speed on Clinton Road and Poplar Street and subsequently arrested the driver, a 21-year-old Central Islip male, for DWI, excessive speed and unsafe lane usage.

July 3

Officer Pumilia stopped a vehicle for erratic driving on Franklin Avenue and Twelvth Street. Upon investigation, the driver, a 40-year-old Mineola male, was arrested for DWI and unsafe lane usage.

A bag of clothing was reported stolen from the front porch of a Harvard Street residence.

July 4

Officers responded to five reports of fireworks during the evening and night hours.

July 5

The glass to a Franklin Avenue bus shelter at Fourth Street was found damaged by unknown means.

During the investigation of a two-vehicle crash on New Hyde Park Road and Dartmouth Street, Officer Lamardo arrested one of the drivers, a 24-year-old Floral Park male, for driving with four driver license suspensions and uninsured operation. The arrestee suffered a minor injury and his passenger was transported to a local hospital for chest pain. The other driver was not injured.

July 6

Officers assisted the Garden City Fire Department on Cedar Place for a report of a gas leak.
