A joint investigation by Garden City detectives, Nassau County PD and the New York City Police Department resulted in the arrest of a homeless 33-year-old male for numerous thefts from auto as well as other related crimes during the past year. The Garden City case involved a theft from an auto at the Garden City Pool last summer. In this case, the victim tried to stop the subject as he tried to flee the scene in his auto, however, she was almost struck as he accelerated to leave the area. For this incident, he was charged with criminal mischief, larceny and reckless endangerment.

A Kellum Place business reports that numerous fraudulent checks have been circulated using the company name.
June 9
Officers conducted a commercial vehicle inspection on Stewart Avenue in the vicinity of Rockaway Avenue. Twelve vehicles were inspected, of which five were placed out of service; 77 tickets were issued for various traffic and safety violations including 10 overweight violations and four hazardous material violations.

June 10
Officers responded to traffic light malfunctions on Franklin Avenue at Old Country Road and on Washington Avenue at Transverse Road.

Officers are investigating a two-vehicle accident on Sixth Street; one of the vehicles reportedly left the scene without stopping.
June 11
A 15-year-old youth from Hempstead was apprehended for the theft of a bicycle at Grove Street Park.
June 12
Officers conducted an attempted burglary investigation at the Cherry Valley Apartments. Two exterior window screens to a residence were found damaged. There was no entry into the residence. The investigation is ongoing.

A wallet was reported stolen from a vehicle parked at a Boylston Street residence.

Officers assisted the Garden City Fire Department with a call for activated smoke alarms at a Huntington Road residence.

Due to strong winds, officers responded to multiple reports of tree limbs down on Cathedral Avenue, Stewart Avenue, Brompton Road and Stratford Avenue. All areas were safeguarded.

Officers are looking for a vehicle that reportedly left the scene of a property damage accident on Clinton Road south of Old Country Road.
June 13
A joint investigation on County Seat Drive by Officer Russell and the Nassau County Probation Department resulted in the arrest of a 29-year-old Hempstead female for driving without a court ordered interlock device based on a prior DWI arrest. The subject was also charged with driving with 17 driver license suspensions and an outstanding Lynbrook Village Court traffic warrant.

A wallet was stolen from a shopper at a Seventh Street store and was subsequently used at various stores in the Roosevelt Field Mall. The investigation is ongoing.

Officers assisted the Garden City Fire Department who extinguished a fire in the rear yard of a Brompton Road residence.
