Officers conducted a commercial vehicle inspection in the vicinity of New Hyde Park Road; 12 vehicles were inspected, of which seven were placed out of service. Seventy-four tickets were issued for various traffic and safety violations including 10 overweight violations.

Officers investigated a three-vehicle accident on Rockaway Avenue where one of the vehicles left the scene without stopping.

Officer Petraglia arrested a 33-year-old New York City female for the theft of $800 in merchandise from Lord & Taylor. Officer Hennessy arrested a 32-year-old Franklin Square female for the theft of $700 in merchandise from Lord & Taylor.
May 23
Garden City detectives report the arrest of a Valley Stream man for a stalking incident that occurred in Garden City on Monday, May 9 at 1 p.m. According to detectives, 25-year-old Valley Stream resident Renaldy Jeannot followed a 31-year-old female victim from Brooklyn to Garden City Plaza and repeatedly used his iPhone to take videos under her skirt. When the victim eventually noticed what the defendant was doing, she copied down his car registration information and notified police. Garden City detectives arrested Jeannot on Monday, May 23 on Waldinger Street. His cell phone with the videos of the victim was recovered. He is being charged with stalking and second degree unlawful surveillance.
May 20
As a result of a traffic investigation on Meadow Street, Officer Russel impounded a vehicle and charged the driver, a 38-year-old Tennessee male, with multiple violations including driving with a suspended license, switched license plates and unregistered vehicle.

Officers are investigating an incident where a contractor received payment from a Franklin Avenue business under false pretenses.

An outdoor light and cigarette station were discovered damaged outside a Franklin Avenue doctor’s office.

Three packages were stolen from the front stoop of a Willow Street residence.
