South High School drama students participated in the annual New York Educational Theatre Festival, which allows students from across the state to meet and take performance, theater business and technical workshops from professionals, as well as perform in individual events.
Students who chose to perform were rated by professionals and several took awards. Earning superior (the highest) ratings were Jack Doremus (monologues), Noah Harouche (duet scene), Isabella Malfi (duet musical theater), Jonathan Schindler (duet musical theater) and Benjamin Weber (duet scene). Kelly Gragossian was awarded a New York Theatre Impact Scholarship.
Five students were elected to the State Thespian Officer Board: Jack Doremus, Noah Harouche, Isabella Malfi, Alexis Pramberger and Benjamin Weber.
The faculty advisor for the festival was Thomas Marr, South High drama teacher.
