Call For Artists: Visual Trick/Visual Treat

TAG 2016 trick card FRT_final-PLThe Art Guild invites all artists to submit artworks for consideration for Visual Trick/Visual Treat, a juried competition and exhibition on view from Oct. 1 to 30. As we enter the mystical season of Halloween, artists are invited to submit works that “trick” or “treat” us. Trick everyone with a trompe-l’oeil or treat us to some beautiful eye candy. Don’t be afraid to let your imagination conjure up something magical, supernatural or macabre.

All artists, 18 years and older (high school students ages 14 to 18 years may enter in the student category), are invited to submit up to three artworks for consideration. All styles from abstract to realism are welcome. The deadline for submissions is midnight on Sept. 9. For more information, mediums accepted, registration forms or to register online, visit www.theartguild.org.

The exhibit will be on view in The Art Guild’s gallery at Elderfields Preserve, 200 Port Washington Blvd. in Manhasset from Saturday, Oct. 1, through Sunday, Oct. 30. Gallery hours are Saturdays and Sundays from 1 to 5 p.m. or by appointment. An Artists’ Reception and Awards Ceremony will be held on Friday, Oct. 14, from 7 to 9 p.m.

The Art Guild is planning a fall session of classes for children and adults including Theory of Oil Painting with Paul Bachem, Watercolor for beginners or intermediates with Eileen Neville, as well as upcoming workshops Alla Prima Painting with Christine Lafuente, Oct. 22 to 23; and Watercolor with Joyce Hicks, June 22 to 25, 2017.
