Great Neck Public Schools Community Education welcomes community members to another season of exciting classes. Registration for the fall session is ongoing, and many classes begin soon.
Community Ed also looks forward to seeing those interested in trying a class at the second annual Open House Week, from Monday, Sept.19, to Friday, Sept. 23. Come visit the classes offered that week, at no fee, with no preregistration necessary. Meet the instructors, see the facilities and learn about what’s available.
This is a wonderful opportunity to join in a fitness class: Mindful Meditation, Aerobics, Zumba, Standing Vinyasa Yoga, Tai Chi, Qi Gong, Body Workout, Movement for Those with Parkinson’s and more. If you enjoy dancing, there’s Jazz, Ballet, Creative and Classical Dance, Ballroom Dancing and Line Dance.
Try your hand at fine arts and crafts with: pottery, stone sculpting, painting, drawing, pastels, printmaking, jewelry making and silversmithing.
If you’re interested in foreign languages, Community Ed offers Chinese, French, Hebrew, Italian, Spanish and Yiddish.
You can also learn about games and hobbies, including bridge, canasta and mah-jongg, or participate in a writing class or a book group.
The schedule of classes for the open house will soon be available at www.greatneck.k12.ny.us. Click on the Community Ed icon from the scroll near the top of the homepage. The schedule can also be found on Great Neck Community Ed’s Facebook page, where you can stay up-to-date on all the latest happenings and find the complete open-house schedule.
