BOE Meeting
The Hicksville Central School District Board of Education will hold its monthly meeting at 8:30 p.m. at the Administration Building, 200 Division Ave. The public is invited.

Fall Prevention/Balance Testing
Senator Kemp Hannon will sponsor a program from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Leon J. Campo Salisbury Center, 718 The Plain Rd., Westbury. Catherine Dunckley, a certified health education specialist at Northwell Health, will discuss topics related to fall prevention including muscle weakness and balance issues, vision problems, the use of medications, proper footwear, and home and community hazards. After the presentation, Dr. Stephanie Idjadi and Dr. Patrick Lyo from Reddy-Care Physical Therapy will conduct a balance screening that will measure one’s risk for a fall. Homemakers’ Council
The Hicksville Homemakers’ Council meets weekly on Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the William Bennett Hicksville Community Center, 28 West Carl St., Hicksville. Ladies of all ages are welcome. For information contact Lisa at 631-351-1104.

Social Dance Matinee

Revolution on Long Island
The Hicksville Historical Society will host Dr. Joanne S. Grasso, author of The American Revolution on Long Island at 7:30 p.m. at the Hicksville Public Library, 169 Jerusalem Ave., Hicksville. In her presentation, Dr. Grasso will explore the story of Long Island at war during the American Revolution. Using images from her recently published book, she will highlight how the war sharply divided families and towns on Long Island. All are welcome. Refreshments served.
