The Great Neck Park District (GNPD) was honored at Town Hall in Manhasset by Town of North Hempstead Supervisor Judi Bosworth and the town board in recognition of its 100th anniversary. The town presented GNPD representatives with a proclamation, as well as a framed copy of a replica of the original resolution, passed on Aug. 14, 1916, that created the special park district. The GNPD currently includes Steppingstone Park, Memorial Field, Allenwood Park, Kings Point Park, Village Green and Rose Garden, Parkwood Pool and Sports Complex, and more.
