The Nassau County Police Department Major Case Bureau arrested Vladimir Reyes, 31, of Hicksville for grand larceny on Tuesday, Sept. 20.
According to Crimes Against Property detectives, Reyes made false statements to the New York State Insurance Fund relating to an injury that occurred on Feb. 11, 2015 while employed at Canco’s Tile in Farmingdale. With the assistance of the New York State Insurance Fund and the Nassau County District Attorney’s Government and Consumer Frauds Bureau, an investigation revealed that between August 2015 and May 2016 Reyes was employed at another business and was paid over $11,000 in worker’s compensation that he was not entitled to receive. Reyes was charged with third-degree grand larceny, third-degree insurance fraud and offering false instrument and penalty for fraud practices.
He was arraigned in First District Court, Hempstead.
