Fire Departs Plans Carnival On Columbus Weekend

The Farmingdale Fire Department will be hosting its Columbus Weekend Fair and Carnival from Thursday, Oct. 6 through Monday, Oct. 10. There will be rides, games, food and live music. Admission is free, but there will be fees for rides and games.

Starting at 5 p.m. on Thursday, there will be carnival rides in the rear of the firehouse at 361 Main St., Farmingdale.

On Friday, the fair runs from 5 to 11 p.m. with the fire department hosting a barbecue during those hours. It will also have a sports garden, but attendees must have a bracelet and be 21-and-over to be served. Music starts at 7 p.m. on the bandstand with the Electric Dudes.
A street fair will be taking place on Main St. from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday while the carnival will be held behind the firehouse from noon to 11 p.m. The barbecue and sports garden will have the same hours as the carnival. Live music will begin at 7 p.m.

On Sunday, the street fair runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and the carnival, barbecue and sports garden hours will be from noon to 11 p.m.

There will be a parade on Main St. starting at 6 p.m. and a fireworks show at 8 p.m. The Superbad Band will take the stage at 7 p.m.

On Monday the carnival runs from noon to 6 p.m.

On Saturday and Sunday, during the street fair, there will be free bowling in the clock tower alley by the Farmingdale Lanes.
