Kenneth R. Kiess of Wyckoff, NJ, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Sept. 30, 2016, following an extended illness. He was 52.
Raised in Manhasset, he attended Manhasset High School where he was voted “Cutest.” Ken was a graduate of Adelphi University, a member of the Indian Trail Club in Franklin Lakes, the Bay Head Yacht Club in Bay Head, NJ, and the Glen Rock JC’s.
Ken’s financial career centered on investment research and quantitative analysis through his firms, Abel Noser, Valley Forge and Q Prime. Most recently he served as a financial advisor with Bank of America/Merrill Lynch in Glen Rock. While a resident of Glen Rock, he was instrumental in bringing the sport of lacrosse to elementary and middle school students, serving as both a coach and league organizer.
Ken’s great loves were his family and lacrosse. In recent years, he developed highly successful events, raising money and awareness for the prevention and treatment of colon cancer. He and his sense of humor will be dearly missed by all who loved him. Ken was the loving husband of Julie A. Zier and the father of KJ, Jack, Maggie and Timmy. In addition to his wife and children, Ken is survived by his parents, Klaus and Nancy, a twin brother, Kurt, his wife Nina and children, Kimberly, Nicole and Ryan, as well as a brother, Mark,
all of Manhasset.
