An 83-year-old North Babylon man was fatally hit by an SUV in East Farmingdale on Monday evening.
Suffolk County police said Warren Prochaska was walking eastbound along Route 109 when he was struck by a Chevrolet Equinox north of the Southern State Parkway at 6:30 p.m.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
First Squad detectives are continuing the investigation but the driver was not charged.
