A woman was fatally hit by a vehicle while crossing Sunrise Highway in Bellmore early Sunday morning
Nassau County police said the victim was walking across Route 27 when she was hit by an eastbound vehicle at 1 a.m.
The victim was taken to Nassau University Medical Center where she was pronounced dead. Her name was not immediately available. The vehicle remained at scene.
Detectives are continuing the investigation.
