Nassau County Police Department Second Squad detectives arrested Steven McKeon, 26, of Bayville for criminal impersonation of a police officer that occurred in Bethpage on Sunday, Dec. 18 at 10 p.m.

According to detectives, McKeon, while at One Eyed Jacks bar located at 380 N. Wantagh Ave., became angry because his friend’s bar tab was too high. The defendant complained to the bartender, stated he was a Nassau County police officer and displayed a silver object that appeared to be a police badge. The manager refused to lower the bar bill and requested the defendant leave the establishment. The defendant complied.

Second Squad detectives arrested McKeon in Hicksville on Saturday, Dec. 31 and charged him with second-degree criminal impersonation of a public servant. He was released on a desk appearance ticket returnable to First District Court, Hempstead.
