Current Simmer options in Carle Place include Korean BBQ Beef over kimchi rice, Thai Chicken Satay over rice vermicelli noodles, Seafood Fra Diavolo over basil orzo, Wild Mushroom Lemongrass and Ginger with vermicelli noodles and Chicken Curry with apple and mint over coconut basmati rice. And coming soon, Spicy Creole Crab & Shrimp with bayou rice.
Choosing a Simmer can be difficult, but eaters can’t go wrong with the Thai Chicken Satay and Seafood Fra Diavolo options, as both kill the winter chill with some pleasant heat. The satay has grilled chicken in a smooth peanut sauce with scallions, Madras curry and a symphony of spices for a flavor that touches all tangy and sweet notes. The Italian-American Fra Diavolo brims with lobster, crab, clams and scallops in a rich, decadent broth. The basil orzo is the perfect pairing, bringing understated balance to the fra diavolo’s rugged profile.
As for soups, Hale And Hearty still offers comfort food favorites Broccoli Cheddar, Chicken and Corn Bisque, Three Lenti Chili and more. But when the winter is at its harshest, the soups offering that feeling of well-being and consolation from the cold are the Old Fashioned Chicken and Dumplings and the Clam Chowder. Both soups bring coziness by the spoonful. The chicken and dumplings is well-seasoned with soft, pillowy dumplings, while the clam chowder brings all the tradition home with creamy, seafaring flavor.
