Sayville Burglars Wanted for Stealing Gifts on Christmas Eve

Suffolk County police are asking for the public’s help in finding two burglars who broke into a Sayville home on Christmas Eve and stole presents and other items, authorities said Wednesday.

The duo broke in a home on Maria Court, where they also stole jewelry, a 60-inch television and electronics before they fled the scene in a light-colored SUV, possibly a Jeep Liberty or a Nissan Xterra, on the night of Dec. 24, police said.

Fifth Squad detectives have released surveillance camera images of the burglars in the hope that someone will recognize them at turn them in.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest in the case. Anyone with information about this burglary is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
