A 31-year-old man was fatally hit by a pick-up truck in the victim’s hometown of Coram over the weekend.
Suffolk County police said Douglas Redmond was crossing Middle Country Road when he was struck by a Chevrolet Silverado near the corner of Mount Sinai-Coram Road at 11:20 p.m. Friday.
The victim was taken to John T. Mather Memorial Hospital in Port Jefferson, where he was pronounced dead. The driver, who stayed at the scene, was not injured.
Sixth Squad detectives impounded the truck, are continuing the investigation and ask anyone with information on the crash to call them at 631-854-8652.
