Mineola Choral Society To Perform At Temple Emanuel

The 70-voice Mineola Choral Society (MCS) will be performing Mendelssohn’s mighty oratorio “Elijah” at Temple Emmanuel of Great Neck, 150 Hicks Lane, as part of the temple’s Stephen C. Widom Cultural Arts series on Sunday, May 7, at 3 p.m. The concert will feature soloists Kenneth Overton, Adrienne Patino Dunn, Michael Bodnylk and Janara Kellerman, as well as the Orchestra of the Society.

The Mineola Choral Society, now in its 69th concert season, is an independent nonprofit organization dedicated to the performance of choral music and draws membership from more than 35 Long Island communities and New York City. Under the direction of Thomas W. Jones, the MCS presents two concerts a year with a repertoire that spans sacred, operatic, classical and popular choral works, and appears as guest chorus with the Nassau Pops Symphony Orchestra for its annual Christmas concert.

Tickets cost $20 each or two for $35. For more information, visit www.mineolachoralsociety.org or call 516-294-1175.
