The Nassau County Police Department Asset Forfeiture and Intelligence Unit reported the arrest of three Queens men for the criminal sale of a controlled substance and criminal use of drug paraphernalia in Great Neck.
According to detectives, along with the Nassau County Police Department Narcotics Vice Bureau, the Nassau County District Attorney’s Office and the Drug Enforcement Administration, an investigation was made into six sales of Fentanyl to one individual for more than $19,000 in Great Neck.
As an result of the investigation, Hussein (Jay) Kaafarani, 50, of College Point; Ali Kaafarani, 28, of Woodside; and Mohamad Nehme, 33, of Astoria were arrested today, Wednesday, May 17.
Inside College Point Self Storage, detectives recovered 1,000 boxes of glassine envelopes, each containing 2,500 envelopes, which are used for packaging heroin, along with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Hussein Kaafarani is being charged with criminal use of drug paraphernalia. Nehme and Ali Kaafarani are each being charged with five counts of second-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and five counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Additional charges against Ali Kaafarani include fourth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and second-degree criminal use of drug paraphernalia. All three defendants will be arraigned on Thursday, May 18, at First District Court in Hempstead.
