ConfiDanZe Kids Dance Recital Wows Crowd

At the third annual ConfiDanZe & Fitness Kids Dance Recital recently held at Great Neck North High School, 165 Great Neck dancers strutted their stuff.

During the school’s largest turnout ever, 12 classes of 3- to 13-year-old boys and girls performed to three or four of their favorite songs that they had learned since the term began in September.

“ConfiDanZe & Fitness has an end-of-the-year recital each year for the kids to showcase what they have learned,” said owner Michele Tabaroki. “It’s a fun upbeat celebration of the amazing kids that we see every week.”

Some of these children have been with the dance school since it opened with only 10 students just five years ago. This year, the school has grown to more than 200 students.

“ConfiDanZe is unlike any other dance school,” Tabaroki explained. “The approach to teaching is focused on fun and fitness.”

Tabaroki, who has been dancing since she was 7 years old, said, “Owning a dance studio has always been a lifelong dream of mine. I started teaching dance and fitness in 2006. It started off as a hobby and I was lucky enough to be able to make it a full-time career.”

ConfiDanZe’s classes range from Zumba for various age groups to Hip Hop/Jazz, Dance Jam, Bootcamp, Cardio Dance and even Bellydance Fitness and Persian Dance.

“After college I was in sales and marketing with my family business,” she reminisced. “It was a difficult decision to work less with my family and to follow my true passion. I am so blessed to do what I love each and every day. I am constantly inspired by all of the people who walk into my studio.”
