911Trib 082317A webWith the 16th Anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on America approaching, Oyster Bay Town Supervisor Joseph Saladino announced that the town will honor the memory of all those who lost their lives that day by hosting a 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony on Wednesday, Sept. 6, beginning at 7 p.m. at TOBAY Beach.

Saladino invites all residents, families and friends to attend.

“As we prepare to observe a national day of remembrance on September 11, it is important that we commemorate this day, as the passage of time does not diminish the tragedy that our nation suffered 16 years ago,” said Saladino. “Together, we will pay tribute to those we lost that tragic morning and honor the bravery and heroism demonstrated by first responders.”

The town’s 9/11 Memorial is inscribed with the names of Town of Oyster Bay residents lost on September 11, 2001. The memorial features a steel beam recovered from the World Trade Center. The Sept. 6 ceremony includes a candlelight vigil, vocal performances, bagpipe music and religious readings. In addition, the names of those lost, who are inscribed on the wall, will be read.
