A Little Neck man was arrested for a robbery that occurred in Great Neck on Friday, Sept. 8, at 3:50 a.m., according to Nassau County Police Third Squad detectives.
While in front of 31 Northern Blvd., Walter Fuentes-Carranza, 21, became involved in a verbal argument with a 36-year-old man who Fuentes-Carranza knew.
The argument escalated, Fuentes-Carranza struck the man in the face with a rock, took his cell phone, $500 and fled the scene. The victim, who sustained a contusion to his face, refused medical attention.
A subsequent investigation led detectives to the identity and location of Fuentes-Carranza, and he was placed under arrest on Wednesday, Sept. 19, at his place of employment.
The defendant is charged with second-degree robbery and will be arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Sept. 20.
