Welcome To Great Neck Record Magazine

Angela Great Neck TabHauserPhotoThank you for reading Great Neck Record Magazine. Anton Media Group has taken great pride in covering this unique and diverse community by way of our weekly newspaper, Great Neck Record, since 1908. And we continue our outreach to the world about all things Great Neck and any breaking news that we encourage you to weigh in via our website www.greatneckrecord.com.

Made up of nine villages and unincorporated areas, Great Neck has a lot of moving parts and a fabulous reputation as a destination spot where people come to raise their families amid the stellar public school system, myriad recreational facilities and a plethora of parks that are a joy to experience regardless of the time of year. The heart of any community is the people that call it home. Great Neck is no exception.

Steve Mosco went Hollywood in sitting down and chatting with Helen Slater, who attended school in Great Neck before finding fame as Supergirl on the big screen. Jennifer Fauci catches up with chef Donatella Arpaia, who recently opened up Prova Pizzabar, located at Grand Central Station in Manhattan. Jennifer got a chance to chat with Donatella about spending her summers in Italy as a child and her fateful decision to leave a career in law and become a restaurateur.

Jennifer also sat down with Dr. Andrew Jacono, a renowned local plastic surgeon who does pro bono work with Beyond Our Borders, an organization that focuses on working with children in countries like Colombia and Ecuador. The charitable spirit that is endemic to Great Neck can also be found via the local chapter of the Rotary Club, which Christy Hinko writes about in this issue. Joseph Catrone focuses on the community’s volunteer fire companies, which allow high school students a chance to give back.

All these great topics are enough to give you quite the appetite and to that end, Alexandra Civorelli has pulled together a roundup of the newest Great Neck restaurants including Ruby Divine Indian Dining, Royal Tea House and T-swirl Crêpe for her dining guide.

As you can see, there’s plenty to dive into with this issue of Great Neck Record Magazine, an experience you’ll undoubtedly enjoy as we scratch the surface of what makes Great Neck so wonderful.
