Goldfish Swim School will expand its Nassau County presence early next year with a new location in Farmingdale. The 10,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility is the area’s largest swim instruction center and will be located at 450 East Main St.
The opening of the Farmingdale location comes just a year after that of a facility in nearby Garden City. Goldfish Swim School owner and water safety expert Katie Lee chose Farmingdale as the site for the newest facility after families who travel from various points on Long Island expressed interest in additional Goldfish locations in the community.
“Goldfish offers a fun and engaging environment where children can learn swim and water safety skills that will last a lifetime, and it’s spurring our growth,” said Lee. “Not only are we eager to bring the best people, teaching methods and facilities to this wonderful family-oriented community, but we are proud to support the growth and revitalization of the greater village of Farmingdale.”
Goldfish Swim School offers developmentally appropriate year-round water safety and swim lessons, and classes are offered mornings, evenings and weekends in a safe, kid-friendly and fun environment. The Goldfish team prides itself on teaching children ages four months to 12 years to swim in a unique, tropical setting with highly trained and certified instructors, small class sizes (max 4:1 student to teacher ratio), 90-degree pools and a state-of-the-art chlorine generation system. The swim school also offers weekly family swims and birthday party packages.
“It’s important for kids to know how to swim so they are prepared to help themselves in case they accidently fall into water or find themselves in trouble in the water,” said Goldfish Swim School Farmingdale General Manager Daniel Snyder. “Kids are amazing with how quickly they learn new skills. If you don’t teach your child how to swim at a young age, there may not be a good opportunity to learn this lifelong skill later. Also, swimming is a fantastic activity to keep kids heart-healthy, and improve muscle strength, coordination, and aerobic fitness. When your kids know how to swim, it’s a fun way for them to stay healthy!”
Classes will begin in January 2018. Families can pre-register for charter memberships now to receive priority class scheduling by visiting https://farmingdale.goldfishswimschool.com or sending an email to swimfarmingdale@goldfishss.com.
