Family & Children’s Association (FCA), a leading human services nonprofit organization on Long Island, has appointed finance executive Rita Thakkar, CPA, CIA to its board of trustees. Thakkar, who is based in the New York City area, is vice president, Internal Audit for CA Technologies, a global software development and services firm.
A certified public accountant and internal auditor, Thakkar brings to FCA more than 20 years of financial leadership expertise both in the U.S. and in Canada. She has held key positions at McKesson Corporation (#5 on the Fortune 500 ranking), where she served as senior director of Investor Relations (2013-2106) and senior director, Internal Audit (2011-2013).

Thakkar began her career at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Toronto and went on to serve as chief audit executive of Kendle International Inc., in the global healthcare/pharmaceutical sector. She holds a degree in accounting from the University of Waterloo, Canada, and has completed executive leadership programs at McKesson and the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business.
She has also been active in several professional and not-for-profit organizations, and currently serves as a Governor of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), Long Island, NY Chapter.
