With a nearly perfect short program and free skate, Giulia DiRaimo won first place in both IJS Junior ladies solo events at last month’s Southern Connecticut Open. DeRaimo’s program consisted of a flawless triple toe, triple flip, and triple salchow-double toe loop combination. DeRaimo routinely practices in Great Neck and currently volunteers as a coach for the United States Figure Skating Therapeutic Skating Program of the Great Neck Park District. DeRaimo is a sophomore attending Manhasset High School. She is training for the North Atlantic Regional Figure Skating Championships this fall.
