New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) has announced that motorists should expect lane closures beginning Tuesday, May 29, on State Route 25 (Jericho Turnpike) between Woodbury Road and Robbins Lane in the Town of Oyster Bay, Nassau County.
One lane may be closed in each direction during the off-peak hours of 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. for resurfacing work.
The old pavement will be removed and replaced with a smooth asphalt surface, which will then have new lane markings painted.
Work on this road is expected to be completed in approximately two months. As with most road projects, work may be cancelled, postponed or prolonged due to inclement weather.
Motorists are reminded to drive carefully through the work zone, obey any speed restrictions that may be in place and the instructions of the flag persons for their safety and the safety of the highway work crew.
For real-time travel information, motorists should call 511 or visit www.511NY.org or the mobile site at m.511ny.org, New York State’s official traffic and travel information source.
The New York State Department of Transportation appreciates the patience and cooperation of motorists and the local community while this project is undertaken to help assure the continued protection of all motorists.
