Chamber Holds Picnic

The Manhasset Chamber of Commerce held a Picnic In The Park for merchants and beautification members in the gazebo at Mary Jane Davies Park on June 6. The sunny day made it the perfect location for the intimate group that gathered to hear Town of North Hempstead Supervisor Judi Bosworth speak on the latest news affecting Manhasset and the town. The supervisor spoke on numerous Manhasset topics including bond ratings and safety, parking on Plandome Road and walkways by the Long Island Rail Road.

Town Councilwoman Anna Kaplan spoke on new programs including a joint initiative with NYU Winthrop Hospital to provide free sunscreen at 25 touch-free dispensers located throughout the town. Town Clerk Wayne Wink also spoke on the ability to process passports through town hall and the services available through the town. Each elected official stressed that the concerns of the residents are the concerns of the town and welcomed inquiries through the 311 system or via email.

Attendees enjoyed delicious sandwiches from Manhasset Deli, chips, cookies and complimentary chocolate-covered pretzels from Chocolate Works, with apples and water courtesy of King Kullen.

You do not have to be a merchant on Plandome Road to join the chamber. Chamber membership is open to all regardless of whether you are a business or an individual. For more information regarding membership in the Manhasset Chamber visit www.manhassetny.org.
