Maggie Cannatella and Laura Ferraris were among the 17 Nassau County 2018 Girl Scout Gold Award recipients recognized by Nassau County Executive Laura Curran.
“I was honored to meet with this year’s Girl Scout Gold Award recipients,” said Curran. “These are young ladies of exceptional courage, confidence and character, who make the world a better place.”
The Gold Award is the highest achievement within the Girls Scouts of USA and can be earned by Senior and Ambassador Girl Scouts. Only 5.4 percent of eligible Girl Scouts successfully earn the Gold Award.
The Girl Scouts of Nassau County are celebrating their centennial celebration in 2019 and will hold an anniversary gala on March 14, 2019, at the Garden City Hotel.
