Congressman Peter T. King is serving his 13th term in Congress.

Rep. King has earned the reputation of being an independent leader who always fights for his constituents even if it means bucking his own party. Rep. King has proven to be a staunch supporter of first responders as he obtained vital healthcare for firefighters, police, EMTs and constructions workers suffering from 9/11 illnesses. He has also been a leader in the battle against MS-13. Congressman King has also secured additional funding to combat deadly illnesses such as breast cancer, prostate cancer and Alzheimer’s disease.

Congressman King is a member of the Homeland Security Committee and Chairman of the Sub-Committee on Counterterrorism and Intelligence. He also serves on the Financial Services Committee and Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.

Liuba Grechen Shirley is a Long Island native, nonprofit leader and mother of two. Liuba is running for Congress to provide affordable healthcare for all and stand up for working families. A fierce advocate for equal rights with extensive experience in the national and international sphere, Liuba served as a UN Women’s Global Champion for Women’s Economic Empowerment. As fifth generation Long Islanders, Liuba’s family taught her the value of hard work and the importance of community—and she and her husband are now raising their two young children in Amityville.

District 3

Tom Suozzi, a CPA, attorney, former mayor and county executive, is the Congressman representing New York’s Third Congressional District.

Tom is a new kind of old-fashioned Democrat who values compassion for those less fortunate, support for a hardworking middle class, and a faith rooted in welcoming the stranger. Tom believes in fiscal responsibility, a strong national defense, healthcare reform and cares for the environment as part of God’s divine creation.

Tom has stood up for Queens and Long Island families by prioritizing support for our veterans, cleaning up the Navy Grumman Plume, securing funding for the Long Island Sound, and holding monthly town halls to hear from his constituents.

Tom resides in Glen Cove with his wife and three children.

Dan DeBono is a Navy SEAL, banker, and first time candidate. Dan served at SEAL Team TWO in Virginia and deployed overseas to the Mediterranean, the Middle East and Africa during the Gulf War era.

He graduated with High Honors from the University of Chicago’s Graduate School of Business and spent 20 years in finance and investing.

Dan is an independent-thinker, his values of integrity, trust, loyalty, honor and perseverance are forged by his SEAL training and his experience with some of the leading financial institutions in the world. He is running on both the Republican and Conservative Party lines.

District 4

KathleenRice District4Kathleen Rice*

Kathleen Rice represents New York’s fourth congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives, where she serves on the Committees for Homeland Security and Veterans Affairs. She was first elected to Congress in 2014.

Rice began her career in public service as an Assistant District Attorney in Brooklyn. In 1999, Kathleen was appointed an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the U.S. Department of Justice’s Philadelphia office. In 2005, Kathleen ran for District Attorney of Nassau County, where she defeated a 31-year incumbent and became the first woman elected District Attorney in Long Island history. Kathleen served as DA from 2006-2014.

Kathleen resides in Garden City.

AmeerBenno District4Ameer Benno

REP, CON, REF

Ameer Benno is a civil rights and Constitutional law attorney from Bellmore. Benno’s family is from Israel, but he was born in the U.S. He attended Johns Hopkins University and Cornell Law School, serving thereafter as a prosecutor in the Manhattan D.A.’s Office and as a professor at New York Law School. He currently has his own law practice. Benno serves on the board of the NYS Academy of Trial Lawyers, and is an executive officer of the Nassau Lawyers’ Association. He is the president of the Merrick-Bellmore Jewish Community Council, and a board member of the Merrick Jewish Centre. He is a member of the Freeport-Roosevelt Chapter of the NAACP. Benno’s wife, Gayle, is an early childhood special education teacher. They have three daughters who attend public school in Bellmore.
