Entrepreneur Krishan Lal Kapur Dies at Age 91

unnamed

With great sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved father, Krishan Lal Kapur, affectionately known to all as “Baaji.” He fought a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer from August 2017 until Oct. 23, 2018.

Baaji, born on July 1, 1927, is survived by his wife, Shanti Kapoor, five children, Sarojini Kumar, Vijay Kapoor, Reena Puri, Vinay Kapoor, and Anil Kapoor, 12 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. He loved and was loved deeply by his family and touched the lives of countless others.

He was a man of strong will power, resolve and principals, who lived a long and successful life and followed his principles of truth and honesty. He always had deep religious faith but never enforced it on any of his children. He always told his children that if they are confident about something to follow their instinct even if he told them otherwise. His positivity and encouragement to focus on “good news” impacted all around him and will continue to live with us as well celebrate his life every day.

Throughout his life he had been a constant support and enforcer for all his children in their endeavors. He always reminded them to be the best in whatever it was they chose to pursue. Baaji started his life as a civil servant but over the years grew into a true entrepreneur seeking opportunities in business and real estate every moment.

He excitedly helped his three sons start their separate successful businesses. Two weeks before he was admitted to hospice care, he enthusiastically suggested starting a real estate business. The energy and willpower Baaji displayed to us is a reminder that no matter what obstacles one might face, we should always remember to make the most of our time here.

We will all continue to follow in his footsteps and forever look back fondly on the memories we cherish with our father. While this might have been the last chapter of Baaji’s physical existence, we know his soul will be with us forever.
