Offering an opportunity for benevolent Long Islanders to put their money where their mouth is for a good cause is the Sid Jacobson Jewish Community Center in East Hills and its 24th annual Eat. Bid. Laugh! fundraiser.

The highly anticipated auction and epicurean event will feature an impressive variety of savory and sweet tastings, a performance by Emmy Award-winning comedian John Mulaney, and extensive silent auction prizes. It will be held at 6:30 p.m. on March 28 at Fresh Meadow Country Club in Lake Success.

“Gatsby’s Landing has participated in this event for the last four years, and it’s something we look forward to every spring,” says Glenn Falcone, owner, Gatsby’s Landing. “It’s incredible to see the community come together for a night of fine dining, entertainment and auction prizes all in the name of a great cause.”

Last year, the premier fundraising event raised more than $1 million. The event has raised more than $13 million since 1995 to benefit the Sheldon A. Sinett BASICS Fund. BASICS (Building and Supporting Initial Community Social Services), an incubator fund that has subsidized more than 70 crucial programs over the last 13 years. The programs serve all individuals and populations including children and teens with special needs, adults afflicted with Alzheimer’s, and those with a cancer diagnosis.

This year’s event will feature a mouthwatering assortment of gourmet cuisine dishes, cocktails, and indulgent desserts from many of Long Island’s finest restaurants.

Participating restaurants include 388 Italian Restaurant & Catering, Centro Cucina, Chris & Tony’s Restaurant & Lounge, Conscious Kitchen, Fresh Meadow Country Club, Gatsby’s Landing, Hana Japanese Cuisine, Hendrick’s Tavern, Kingfish Oyster Bar & Restaurant, La Bussola, La Ginestra, Limani, Nisen Sushi, Pearl East, Sangria 71, SixPoint Beers, Stresa Ristorante, The Poll Brothers Restaurants, Tocolo Cantina, Trattoria DiMeo, Vilai Restaurant, and W.
